1) Ease of transition. Because it is an IP system, cut over day is no longer even
exciting - You can place all the phones, program inbound and outbound routing,
train, demonstrate actual inbound and outbound calls, and make sure it is what users want - then the actual switch is moving the PRI from one box to another!
2) IP makes distance irrelevant. Networking traditional systems together
over PRI is expensive (leased PRI circuits at each end) and VERY difficult to
get right. Networking traditional Digital systems using IP is a REAL headache -
you want to talk about a tricky procedure - to network a Samsung to another
Samsung, it is a 5-Page procedure. NG-PBX? 5 Minutes in Trunks, and a couple
of outbound routes, and you are done.
3) Freedom! Buy an Avaya? Everything from that point forward is Avaya.
Samsung? Same thing. Cisco? Same thing. Mitel? You get the idea. Contrast that
with NG-PBX - Don't like Polycom phones? Use Aastra. Don't like Sangoma
cards? Use Rhino. Don't like Digital Trunks? Use SIP. This is something that
every customer can understand.
4) Accountability: We tell all our customers that if at any point in the
future, that we are not doing a good job, they can replace us. Contrast that to traditional vendors - you are stuck !
